Well, I saw it...last Sunday...it was lots of fun, totally different
feel from all the other Shows in Vegas but...I wasn't as WOWED
as some folks have been.
The 9 foot wide stage is in the center, surrounded by wooden folding
chairs on the floor level, booths surround those on the upper rear level
where I sat. The VIP ticket holders go in at any time, while General
Admission folks line up and enter just before showtime.
It's all seat yourself/any where you like...with just a few seats/booths
held with RESERVED signs.
I watched those...curious to see who used 'em but didn't recognize
anyone special.
AMAZING JOHNATHAN and his party sat themselves down in the front
row, non reserved seats just across from me so...the few reserved areas
are probably just for comps. There didn't seem to be a 'front of stage' that
the Artists or hosts played to...views seemed equal all round as were the
tent support posts which were...not a problem.
The Artists are great. You won't see anything you haven't already seen
before, but because you're so close to the action...THAT!... makes it
different and thrilling (a little dangerous too maybe)... Johnathan kept
ducking alot LOL!
ABSINTHE is an acro-cabaret variety Show hosted by the Gazillionair and his
assistant Penny. There part... IS adult in both language and gags.
Have ya seen ZUMANITY?...it's cute naughty. ABSINTHE is boarder line crude naughty.
As the Gazillionair announces when we first meet him..."if the word F... bothers you,
then get the F... out now!".
Penny has fun with her X-Rated sock puppets, the Gazillionair has fun with whats
in his pants, and the audience has fun WITH IT ALL!
It seemed a bit of an awkward mix...The straight, world class Artists performing their
feats of strength, balance, danger, and flexibility, mixed in with the totally off the wall
adult humor of the Gazillionair and Penny. Nothing much related to each other yet it all
seemed to work.
I was pretty disappointed with one thing...
The Gazillionair we've seen in the press photos, all the advertising and video was NOT
who I saw my night. Save for his goofy tuxedo costume and slicked back hair, it was
not the guy I came to see. In fact...my guy...out of costume yet still recognizable, was
watching from the booth next to me for a time...
Gazillionair #1 gets a night off, Gazillionair #2 fills in......TOO BAD.
ABSINTHE is fun though...different, a nice change from the regular Vegas vibe but once
was enough for me.
I suggest the General Admission ticket and you can get a discount at TIX4TONIGHT across
the street in Bill's Gambling Hall (or any of their other outlets)
Without a VIP tic, I wasn't allowed to walk into and through...the 'old phone booth' used as
a door way to the Lounge. I did enjoy one of the burgers and fries sold in the ABSINTHE
court yard prior to the Show. Folks there who had experienced the VIP thing said..."save your
money, it's no big deal". I did save my money and what I didn't see/I didn't miss. (burger/fries were great)
