Sphere's first earnings report

984 million loss - CFO quits

You can cut them some slack on the initial loss because of the residual construction and opening costs......

More concenring is the fact that it only brought in $6.7 MIllion in revenue.    Take that out to a year and you get about 27 million.       At that rate it will take over 80 years to sell enough tickets just to cover the construction cost of 2.3 Billion....nevermind the ongoing costs of maintaining it, paying salaries, utilityu bills, taxes, etc....

Somebody better call Taylor Swift to come to the rescue.

At the end of the day, it's a gimmick...an expensive one at that. I can see a lot of people going there once.

Once.

Dolan is impossible to work for. He churns thru mgmt regularly at MSG. The Knicks are a mess; somehow the Rangers are competitive.

At the end of the day the Sphere is a giant, expensive movie theater.

This Sphere is just an over hyped, over budget boondoggle, that will never pay for itself (and the investors). Like the forthcoming F-1 race in Vegas, it will be another costly mistake that visitors will pay for with ever increasing taxation.
