Zip Line Adventure
I wanted to share my experience with Flightlienz in Boulder City. My 15 year old son and I were out to the Grand Canyon in April and end the trip with a few days in Vegas, of course!
I had read about the zip line when we had done the one downtown. I had reserved a few months before for our 11am flight. It was the first week in April so I knew that it would not be too hot, but am told that they run all day all year.
First, we checked in and signed off all the legal stuff then they weight you. You must be under 250 or no flight. Then they take you as a group, we had about 14 in our group, and fit you with the harness and show you how to clip on to the line. You wear the same harness for the rest of the day, something like a enhanced climbing harness with a seat attached.
We all filled into the shuttle and took off into Bootleg Canyon. The 4 guides with us were a hoot and very funny. They told us a lot about the Canyon and showed us some sites. I didn’t know it was one of the first and most difficult places to mountain bike in the country! Not for me…
We had a group that was a mix of old and young. They did a great job with everyone and made sure that they stressed safety all along the way. There was bottled water at all of the launching and landing points.
So, how was it you ask? It was a blast! I am 50 and my son is 15 and we really enjoyed the 4 zip lines of various lengths and distances. At one point we did not make t to the end and the guides had to come out and retrieve us! The scenery is just beautiful and you just can’t believe you’re a few min away from all of the crazy Vegas stuff. It took about 2 ½ hours but the time just flew by. We didn’t want it to end.
On the way back to the office, they told us that they also offer night flights as well. My son is ready to go back today. It is not cheap, about $139 for him & $159 for me but it was well worth it.
One last thing, I emailed the office after we got home to tell them of our experience, we had one small glitch when we got back to the office. No big thing, but it was different from what the guides had explained in the shuttle. The owner emailed me back in about 24 hours and made things right. He went above and beyond what I would have ever expected anyone to do. Send me a message if you want more info.
