Alexander vs Matthysse (6/25) We last saw Devon Alexander losing to Tim Bradley. (We won that fight) He fought like quite the bitch in that fight and was easily outclassed by the speed and awkward style of Bradley.
Last time out for Matthysse he put a beating on Chop Chop Corley. Which really doesn't say a lot. Before that he went the distance in a loss to Zab Judah.
While I think that Matthysse may have the power to KO, Alexander, I doubt he'll get that chance. Alexander likely has the power to KO Matthysse as well.
I like Alexander in this fight. Matthysse is slow and not a very good technician. He throws a lot of sloppy punches though he does have a decent left hook. I think that Alexander was a bit exposed in his last two fights they where against two guys that are far better then Matthysse.
Alexander is the hometown fighter and Don King is the promoter. Those are some serious negatives for Matthysse. I just think that Alexander knows that he has to have this fight and will show that he still belongs at the top of the division.
