Alf M

Alf M I followed Alf to this site and will be leaving if he does not return. I would like to hear from other subscribers who also follow Alf. I don't have the talent or time do do better at handicapping sports than taking his picks after he has made his wagers. I suspect if most people were honest with themselves and compared their results with his they would come to the same conclusion. So at this time I don't handicap sports. I handicap the handicappers. I have tracked and wagered on his results for several years, as well as other handicappers who sell their picks. Don't see anyone getting better results than Alf. A few are comparable in places. When and if I can do better on my own or with another tout I will do so. Obviously I have a personnel interest in seeing Alf come back. I'm out of business until he does. Don't know if he is going elsewhere or just giving up touting. Before I leave the site, I would like to here from everyone that has something to contribute.
Alf was good. Give AC a chance to sort this out. Football is starting, so Fez will run with the ball for a while. If Alf felt under the gun, I hope he'll at least post here and there - once in a while. When the summer was dry, those golf selections were nice. I'm surprised Alf left, as no one was ripping him, at least not on the board. But you're right, hate to lose him.
Alf's golf sections were gold - the best thing on these boards....that being said Fez is better at the other sports, so we lets enjoy football until were hear of Alf's next move.
Alf (and Dude's) Golf selections were generally spot on as were all his UFC picks (along with Truushot) I appreciated the great insight and write ups and that Alf was pretty discerning on the plays he made so when he had a bunch in a single tourney you knew all of them were solid selections. Football had a pretty good record last year if I remember correctly as well. Tough to see him leave this place, and I hope everything is OK with him. Great while it lasted.

Unless something has happened that I don't know about, Alf isn't going elsewhere. The situation is as I stated it -- he finds it necessary to take a break. We respect that and welcome him back when things change. We also respect anyone who feels Alf's absence is significant enough to leave the board. If anything, much of this conversation supports my contention that you should be keeping your own records and analyzing your results. If Alf was the guy you followed and you were winning, I can't argue a decision to leave if he's not here.
