Absolutley SHOCKED that Janell Wheeler was voted off 1st!!!
I would have layed -2000 that she would get through tonight.
How a couple of those girls made it through over her is beyond explanation.
I picked Carrie Underwood. The key here is I was not watching the TV. Only heard her 60 second try out. Told wife you just heard the winner. The "bet" was if I was correct we would never have to watch the show again. If wrong I had to sit through the garbage.
I won! and still lost. She just laughs at me now every time the karoke show comes on.
I feel your pain, part of being the other half.
BTW, only guy with a shot is Casey James.
So the first 4 cuts (Wheeler, Rodriquez, Grady, and Munoz) were probably all somewhat surprises.
I doubt many people had any of those 4 to go actually.
Re-assessing the field I think a play on the very talented and mature Michelle Delamor now merits a decent play at +2070.
I like them at those prices. Hopefully the medical issue doesn't kill off your Bowersox position.

El Presidente is the ultimate mush betting sports..but he apparently knows idol like no other fool
I'd get my $ down on 19-year-old Siobhan Magnus ASAP as he's allegedly picked 6 or 7 of 8 winnahs depending if you believe his view that Adam Lambert really won last year...
I know you all are professional gamblers but copy and paste the link just to see the pics of J. Love Hewitt on p.2
Recap on outstanding wagers after the performances of the round of 20:
Janell Wheeler (Small) 15.3 to 1 (Currently Dead)
Lee Dewyze (Big) 14.41 to 1 (Currently 5 to 1)
Katelyn Epperly (Very Small) 43.8 to 1 (Currently 19.9 to 1)
Michelle Delamor (Decent) 20.7 to 1 (Currently 19.56 to 1)
Wheeler: Loser (Unless they have wildcard comeback)
Dewyze: Two solid performances and again rave reviews by Simon. This is looking very good as this week dialidol predicts him as the highest vote getter.
Epperly: Such a beautiful natural. This girl could just keep getting better and better. Solid round 2 behind the piano singing Coldplay. Judges thought the song was "slow" but all agreed she is very very good. She looks like the middle of the pack as far as voting is predicted. I still believe she just keeps getting better and better and could have some nice buy back soon.
Delamor: I thought she did a decent job (not great) trying to work a Creed song tonight. The judges really like her (with the exception of R. Jackson) but I am somewhat worried about her as it wasn't a "wow" performance. She is ranked in the bottom 3 currently of predicted girls. Hopefully she makes it through and has a solid 3rd round.
Predicted Top 3 after round of 20:
Meaning who I think will be in final 3 as of now and in no particular order. I will update this after each round as well.
Lee Dewyze-Casey James-Siobhan Magnus
Sorry...
Not that there seemed to be too much interest anyway but I really fell off the AI weekly update.
Anyway we are down to the final 4:
Lee Dewyze/Casey James/Crystal Bowersox/Michael Lynche
Our outstanding wagers are:
Janell Wheeler (Small) 15.3 to 1 (LOSER)
Lee Dewyze (Big) 14.41 to 1 (Most votes in round of 5)
Katelyn Epperly (Very Small) 43.8 to 1 (LOSER)
Michelle Delamor (Decent) 20.7 to 1 (LOSER)
Lee Dewyze has really come on strong and seems to still be Simon's favorite to win the competition.
Big Mike has maintained his stay after a judges save 4/5 weeks ago when he then received the least # of votes.
Casey James keeps on hanging on after being in the bottom 2/3 over the past couple of weeks.
Crystal Bowersox (according to Pinny) is still the odds on favorite to win the show currently sitting at -121 to win it all, but this has taken a dramatic fall from the -200+ she had been for several weeks.
While nothing is near certain yet I like our position with Lee. According to dialidol.com he had almost twice as many busy signals per 100 calls last week as any other contestant.
However nothing is certain as Daughtry was in same position a few years ago and got voted off in the round of 4 as everyone thought he was safe so didn't bother voting for him.
This weeks theme is Movie Soundtracks so I think we are in for a really even playing field.
While my first impression is to somewhat hedge a small portion by betting Crystal to win I am going to wait one more week at the least...
Crystal definetly has a big advantage being the only woman left as Siobahn being voted off a few weeks ago instead of Big Mike gives Crystal many added teen girl votes (the ones that are based purely on "girl power") instead of having them split.
Although I do look for Big Mike to have a solid performance and opportunity this week I still believe he will go home after this round (at least that is what I am hoping for) as he has already beaten the odds to stay this many weeks after a judges save.
If this leaves us with a final trio of Dewyze/Bowersox/James it should be a very competitive final 3 which is needed badly for the show after such a "meh" season and with the upcoming loss of Simon looming.
Go Lee!!!
