American Idol Thoughts.....

geezzz Burger, for the rest of us on the West Coast, no need to watch the Elimination show now. OK, so here is my two cents, as a former musician and once in a while Idol handicapper, I should have stepped in long ago, played Bowersox Mammasox to win at -130 and would lay up to and including -150. No doubt her and Lee will be in the final two and then we'll see if the geographical locations of their hometowns are worth more in the final vote, which Lee being from the Chicago area, really helps, but I'm sticking with baby Joplin.

Even -105 earlier today. Now up significantly. Sorry if I spoiled it for you. I'm loving my position but really really really need Lee to have a strong homecoming week. If he can hold of Casey James (the teenage girls vote will be split this week) and make it into the finale....He should pick up a ton of extra votes via the geographical locations and the additional Casey James voters. I just hope Lee picks a better song than he did this week...Horrible selection doing the Seal song Kissed by a Rose. George Washington def has the chops but I love our price at 14.4-1 here holding a $500 ticket.

the good news for lee... its a voting contest and not a singing contest. he doesn't need to outsing crystal in the final to win this silly thing as recent finals will show.

It is more what is marketable than anything else and Lee has a solid recording voice with a good look/image. Casey as well but his multiple DWI's and arrests have caused him some voting backlash. Crystal has a good chance at it but that GW grill is just hard to market.

Don't know if anyone watched tonight... Spoiler alert don't read if you haven't watched and plan on watching later.. Lee absolutely DOMINATED the final 3 show tonight. Dominated....not even close. In fact according to dialidol.com he is averaging more busy signals per 100 calls than Crystal and James combined. The young man may have peaked a week early. Who knows? But he is a LOCK to make it to final 2 and IMO won the show tonight. Guy was absolutely outstanding. And my 14.4 to 1 $500 wager has nothing to do with my opinion. :)

Once again American Idol has turned into a voting popularity contest based on geographical regions. Ridiculous, boring, indulgent, Karaoke etc. ..and you have to respect the busy signal as in last year's final the software made it so close that you really couldn't tee off on either Finalist, even though on a scale of 10 who is a better vocalist Kris Allen (rates a 3) and Adam Lambert (rates a 9.5) and Kris Allen wins by a slight margin. But, this is ok for handicapping purposes, and we'll exploit it to make a profit one way or another.......and yes, Burger I now agree, it's Lee Dewyze's contest to lose and DialIdol also controls the market, as my girl Bowersox is now +150. So, I'll have to flip here, maybe wait for the Final day and get a better price on Dewyze to WIN!

It's official: Lee vs Crystal in final 2. ALF: Pinny line before results show was up to Lee at -230 to win... You think there is any disaster Lee could perform or judges say anything so powerful to sway Crystal back into the voters lead? Or Lee simply has too much intangibles in his favor to win at this point? I don't think there is any need to hedge anything at this point but I am in a good spot here nonetheless.
