The Barclays Scottish Open

The Barclays Scottish Open Ryo Ishikawa -105 vs Y E Yang Yang missed the cut last week at the AT&T National and he has played more golf and traveled around the globe, possibly than any other golfer this year I believe. That would be a good thing if he was on form, but he is struggling with all parts of his game. Ishikawa impressed me at the US Open, hitting the different shots required for Open style golf. The greens this week at Loch Lomand have taken a beating........ During the past unusually cold winter in Scotland, the putting surfaces at Loch Lomond were under a sheet of snow and ice without a break for two months, causing widespread damage. Recently the three worst affected greens were hastily re-laid, but for several weeks the tournament organizers have been e-mailing European Tour members with updates of their progress amid fears that the greens may fall short of the standard required. After being kept abreast of the situation Casey withdrew from the tournament. “The last thing you want to do in the week before The Open is to lose any confidence with your putting stroke,” Casey said. So, with the conditions of the greens and a couple of newly laid surfaces, this also favors Ishikawa, who rams his putts rather than dye them to the hole like Yang does. Damien McGrane -135 vs Ross McGowan McGrane is playing some of his best golf right now, with three Top 20 finishes in his last four starts. But, this wager is a bet against McGowan who has WD his last two tournaments because of a wrist injury............ I know what you are thinking/saying, Alf these injury bets are not working/cashing, but I have to say, this season and the rash of injury bets going down is an anomoly. I count 16 injury bets this year on LVSports and we are 2-14. I still like McGrane in this spot.
