I do review carefully the ratings at www.sportsbookreview.com. I don't believe that is the final word in ratings but if I see some problems at books I may avoid them. But not always.
For instance, SIA is a book that I see a number of complaints abound but I have been paid and all other "beards" or "friends" have been paid. I have to go with my own experience here. It is encouraging that the ratings are now "B-" I think now which more reflects my experience.
WSEX is a book one has to avoid at the moment. I was owed money there and the sportsbook review site was still A- and clearly my withdrawals were taking 60 days with several calls made to the book for payment. I don't know how it will work out there. They did pay me but I never went back in with another account and last payment was received about a year ago. It has dropped to D or something like that and the complaints are numerous.
Matchbook I would defer more to the experts that are here and who make large bets. Fez would be one and there would be others on this forum. Its rating is in the "B" category at sportsbookreview.com. It meets my standards for payment then. I don't think I've seen any complaints of non-payment from this book. My own experience has been when I've requested payment there the withdrawals have been received in a timely manner through the e:wallets which I can use.
I would guess the rating drop is from some relationship with WSEX which I don't know a lot about and I heard some rumour about credit betting while ago.
My own concern that is unique to this book is that although we believe we are playing amongst ourselves and the book would not have risk, I have concerns that there are large bettors who may be on credit at this book who actually supply the liquidity at great prices that we like.
Like a market maker on a stock exchange, a money maker although an expert on a stock can lose. If some of these Matchbook "market makers" lose and play on credit and lose big, isn't my credit risk as a player just with these individuals ultimately? In other words, one has to know that the book is being played by everyone who has made cash deposits. If it isn't and too much of this funding is credit backed well if they don't pay I don't like my balance security too much.
