Boxing (10/15) Kendall Holt vs. Danny Garcia
This is an interesting fight in the sense that the odds have moved tremendously. Holt opened as a huge favorite. Currently Garcia is the favorite. It was a very large swing.
Garcia is undefeated, and is a good fighter. I don't think he's exceptional. He seems to me to be a pattern fighter and as of yet doesn't seem to throw his punches without thought. Pattern fighters in general, throw similar punches all the time. Garcia doesn't jab much, he likes to throw left hooks and straight rights, occasionally mixing in a left hook to the body. He hardly varies this shots. Pattern fighters either learn to vary their shots more or they eventually run into guys that can out think them and they get exposed.
Holt is a bit of a enigma and has is a bit chinny which is a big concern. Garcia can crack but so can Holt. Holt has eye catching one punch power. I'm not sure that Garcia possesses that kind of power. I also think that Holt is vastly more experienced then Garcia and hopefully understands his limitations.
I don't think that I'm reaching to much here taking a shot with Holt.

Chad Dawson vs. Father time (Bernard Hopkins)
Dawson the once beating head case fights the wily old man Bernard Hopkins.
Two years ago, Dawson would have been -300 or greater in this fight. Now he's a very slight favorite. Betting against Hopkins has been a tough thing. He just has a way of winning fights. Over the last three years he's undefeated. I think many of those fights have flattered Hopkins. Especially the last two fights against Pascal. He was able to earn a draw against Pascal the first time. (I had Pascal winning the fight) The second time around Hopkins won. Pascal had previously beaten Dawson. Though the fight against Dawson was stopped via cuts in the 11th. I thought Dawson, while fighting his worst fight ever, dealing with issues at home etc..., had a very good shot of ending the fight when it was stopped due to a accidental headbutt. Dawson has changed camps multiple times and I still think is a bit of a head case. All that being said, I'm going to stick with what I always thought of this fight. Dawson has the exact right style that makes Hopkins look bad.
