Boxing 12/18

Boxing 12/18 I bet Pascal to beat Hopkins. Hopkins has a shot but I truly think he's finally done. (famous last words) Malignaggi will win. Tyson Fury will win. Erik Morales will win. Jorge Arce will win. I took Lebedev in a mild upset. (Surprisingly Huck isn't a bigger favorite. Almost seems like a trap. Hard to bet against German belt holders fighting in Germany.) Solis vs Lazarte, I like the over 9.5 in this fight. I like Solis but Lazarte is fighting at home. If you are truly adventurous betting them all in a parlay returns 4.42 for every dollar bet. (5dimes) GL
Let me be clear. 2 units on Pascal -200 (-220 is still available) 2 units on Lebedev +110 3.2 units on the over 9.5 -160 No official count on the parlay but I did toss a bit on it.
Lebedev CLEARLY wins the fight. Yet another bad decision in GERMANY. I should know better. Huck wins by Split decision even though he was out landed 2 to 1 by my estimation.
2 weeks in a row.... I make huge bets on fights that end a draw. Wow, guess its better then losing. Pascal vs. Hopkins ends in a draw.

Didnt get to see the fight. Did it look like the right result??

Results another 12 rounds draw but we win the over. +2 units. 2 judges had it even the other had Solis 117-109. 2 points where deducted from Lazarte. It seems that everywhere except the USA continues to get worse on the judging. Some changes will need to be made before Boxing becomes more of an afterthought. So on recommend fights we get 0 units won loss.
Didnt get to see the fight. Did it look like the right result??
Was the result out of line... probably not. I had Pascal winning. I believe that the two KD's hurt Pascal. He got complacent. There where no views that I saw of his corner. The 12th round was a great round, one of the better rounds this year. Was it a robbery? No. The result was Pascal's fault. He didn't take the fight to Hopkins after the third. Either his corner guys are idiots or he didn't listen to them. Bernstein had it Hopkins by 1 round. Tarver has Pascal by 1 round. 1 round is 2 points. I had Pascal winning by 2 points. I felt he did enough. Punch stats had Hopkins dominating. Mostly do to Pascal not letting his hands go. Interestingly, Hopkins did almost no inside fighting. It seems to me that was a good choice because when it did happen Pascal was getting the better of it. Including 18 parlays (13-7) (+10.530) 10 straddle bets (2-8) (-7.940) 16 OVER/UNDER (8-9) (-1.925) 51 straight bets (36-17) (+23.892) Overall 59-41 235.08 units wagered (+24.56 Units)
i had pascal as well at the same price, -200. i peronally scored it 114-112 bhop and was happy to escape with a draw. unreal stamina at almost 46 yrs old.
Is Hopkins that good or boxing that bad? Would have loved to have seen this guy fighting back in the 80s, when boxing was so much more popular.

Hopkins may not rate as a top 10 all time great but he was a hell of a fighter. It was proved out that Pascal is a dumb fighter to say the least. Hopkin's style is a bad matchup for Pascal. Pascal's inactivity allowed Hopkin's to fight at his own pace. If Pascal was willing to take more chances and press the fight I think Hopkin's wouldn't have looked so "good". The Pascal that fought Froch would have smoked Hopkins. Even the Pascal that beat Dawson would have. Pascal seems to be regressing. I think most everyone thought this would be more of an inside fight. Pascal didn't have a good plan B. Likely won't see a rematch of this fight. Pascal has no reason to fight Hopkins again.
