Bradley vs Alexander (1/29)

Bradley vs Alexander (1/29) This Saturday at the Silverdome, Devon Alexander faces Timothy Bradley. It what should be considered a huge fight has drawn little to no attention from the general public. Neither of these guys is a major draw. The fight will by on regular HBO and so far ticket sales have been abysmal. Both of these guys are young, prime undefeated fighters. Bradley is 27 and Alexander will be 24 a few weeks after this fight. The winner of this fight is likely to vault into larger fights, if such a thing exists outside of Pacquiao and Mayweather at light welterweight. (140) Khan?? Bradley is mostly a pressure fighter. Normally pressure fighters have above average or better power, Bradley doesn't. Alexander mixes it up a bit more. I think he'd like to come forward behind his jab, but to this point, his jab or at least the accuracy of that jab is lacking. Alexander looks like he has faster hands and more power. Bradley has better feet and better head movement. They both can be hit. Bradley lunges far to much and Alexander doesn't move his head enough. Bradley will likely be the aggressor in this fight, Alexander will try to turn Bradley while throwing counter punches. I think this fight will get off to a very fast start and we could see some fireworks early. My notes indicated that Alexander DROPS his hands when he punches. You have to watch carefully but it occurs every time he loads to throw punches. I'm just not sure that Bradley is the type of fighter that will see it as he spends a lot of time bending at the waist and twisting around. He'll know that it happens, I'm just not sure he can take advantage of it. Both fighters are a bit wild in the ring, Alexander is more of a classical fighter, Bradley really could use a better trainer. The lines aren't moving on this fight and Bradley was installed as the favorite at about -200. I make this fight much closer then those odds. Alexander is the better boxer though he can be very inaccurate. Bradley can be crazy wild but he never quits. Bradley rightfully should be favored in this fight. If this fight where in a few years, I think Alexander handles Bradley but he may be to inexperienced at this stage to realize his dream. Prediction later in the week.
The guys "in the know" are all over the place on this fight. I think that this fight comes down to experience. Bradley has far more of it, against far better competition. His defense is better and he's very awkward to fight. Tight fight on paper. Should be a great fight to watch. 1.8 units to win 1 on Bradley. GL
I also bet the draw in this fight at +2400. Cheap protection as I'm on a streak of large bet draws. Bet enough to show a profit because the number is so big. 4 percent is more then enough if I did the math correctly.
Best I see on this is -175. You like it there?

I bet it at -180 and -185 on multiple sites. Just checked Bodog it has -170 currently. One of the only reasons if not the only reason to have Bodog is fighting. Yes limits aren't that high though.
This fight's on for free tonight, and my buddies are asking me to go watch a shitty local MMA card. Pretty much sums up the state of the two sports. Sigh.
In my mind Bradley was clearly winning the fight when the fight was stopped due to injury. (Unanimous decision for Bradley) Like I said, at this point Alexander just isn't experienced enough to handle Bradley. Alexander is the more classically skilled fighter but Bradley is very awkward to fight. Alexander seemed to me to not want to continue the fight though his eye was bad. Bradley causes, and it really is a style issue, a lot of headbutts. I'll take the win. Alexander already says he wants a rematch which is in the contract. At this point I think he should pass on the rematch as there is little to no public interest and he could use more experience before taking on Bradley again. He should also trade in his limited corner man. Cunningham is just okay. Alexander can take a punch, he needs to learn to sit on his punches and not move backwards so much.
Another good call. Well done.
