Columbus Day and Thanksgiving Day (Canada) NHL Mon 10/11

Columbus Day and Thanksgiving Day (Canada) NHL Mon 10/11 1-1 yesterday. Screwjob in Fla-Edm game. Edmonton kicked a goal in and they reviewed it and still counted it. Calgary was the a winner. 7-3; +4.45 1 Pittsburgh (+120) Pens lost 2 straight to open their new arena. 7 Chicago (+107) Defending champs now 0-2 after losing their opener and at home against the Wings on Stanley Cup banner unveiling night. Now that's behind them and they can focus on business. 14 Vancouver (-1.5) (+129) The Canucks lost in a shootout on Saturday on their 40th anniversary celebration night. Tonight they get a Florida team that has to be discouraged off their loss where they outshot Edmonton 2-1 last night and had a bad goal allowed against them, which was a bad call.
Turco OUT tonight for Blackhawks in goal. Still like Chicago +119 now.
Great start to the season Shooter, thumbs up :-) Your comments seems to be very much situational, especially being contrarian to what happened last. You wrote something about Your NBA capping being mostly situational - is this the same with your NHL capping? I really like contrarian thinking, and hopes you could explain how much you Weight situational capping and being contrarian into your capping.
Thanks for the winners again last night ! Don't extinguish the fire; you are hot, Shooter.

Thanks guys. I don't like anything tonight with only two games. I do incorporate some contrarian situations, but it's a lot of fundamentals. I'm not really a stat geek with hockey so much. The only tangible stats I look at are goaltending stuff. For instance, the Chicago pick was based on a couple things. Blackhawks only scored 1 pt in four games (OT loss at Colorado and home loss to Detroit). They just got through raising their Cup banner in the home opener. Now they go on the road to Buffalo, Patrick Kane's hometown, so you know that they were going to have a good effort, win or lose. They also started Corey Crawford in goal for this one and sat Marty Turco, which is why the line went up so late. The game played out with Buffalo scoring two goals in first three minutes. Hawks cut it to 2-1 and then Niklas Hjalmarsson made a hit a Jason Pominville and was thrown out and received a 5-minute major penalty. The Sabres couldn't score on a 5-minute power play and the game turned the Hawks way from there.
One play tonight: Last minute 51/52 Colorado/Detroit UN 5' (+105)
