Columbus/Detroit NHL tonight

Columbus/Detroit NHL tonight The good news if you back Columbus tonight and you never bet them before and they lose it will only be your first loss betting on them. They haven't won a game yet in 6 (but they've covered a few puck lines as a dog) I read they have 1 win in regulation of the last 28 they have played. I recall a pratfall from them last year to close the season and they missed the playoffs. They are decimated by injuries. Carter is out. Huselius a medium star is out a few months. Wisniewski the free agent D they signed who is good is suspended until next week. So they don't have the ammunition they should. But I do think it is in the line here. The Jackets have a legit shot at the playoffs if they were completely healthy. Depending on analysts they might make it and they might not. Most would say not but they're not a complete dreg of a team but these injuries/absenses are significant. The Red Wings haven't played in 5 days and Columbus in 3. I do think Columbus will come with a big effort to win this game. The Red Wings a perfect record so far might be a little slow to start here and I think Columbus might get off to a good start. They also might play very conservatively and not be beaten by carelessness if they can help it. Columbus does play Ottawa tomorrow which is a winnable game but it is in Ottawa and whatever effort they come up with tonight they'll be the ones arriving in Ottawa at 2 in the morning or 3 if you include time to cross the border. The franchise has had very low crowds other than their opener. It has to be an organization concern. To lose a few more might already jeapordize the playoffs without an ever bigger run than they would need now based on this start. I haven't even bet the Jackets yet but I will place a puck line bet on them tonight. ML they are well over +200. I'd like to think the Jackets will hold the Wings to no more than 3 tonight, avoid penalties and be opportunistic. Jackets I would like in the 1st period but I won't bet that. The team definitely is not horrible and the Wings are good but they're old and might not be as good as some other teams they have had. I played +1.5-131 but I would really have played this up to +1.5-150 for a little bit. It opened at Pinny +1.5-139 going against a little bit here bettors but nothing huge (so far).
thanks for posting, Big S
No, 3 PPG by Detroit. Way too many. They obviously weren't careful so that handicapping was off. And I guess they can't kill a penalty to bail themselves out of the situation. They did outshoot Detroit but that can be misleading. They had it 3-2 in the 3rd gave up the 3rd PPG and an EN goal was the last goal. What a bunch of Jack(et) offs. The Jackets play Ottawa tomorrow night. They are a dog in that game and probably are a decent bet tomorow. They have a home game next week on Tuesday against Detroit. It will be a rematch and if they come in winless there should be great numbers to play on Columbus in that game although with tonight's loss they will have lost 11 of 14 to the Red Wings. Wisniewski will be back from suspension he'll help them. In that game if Detroit is -180 on the ML over Columbus I'll be right back on them and that is probably win or lose tomorrow night vs. Ottawa and I'll love that. Even if Detroit is only -150 or so I'm sure I'll probably convince myself to bet the Jackets again.
Well, it sets up as a pretty good betting situation I think. I did end up playing a little of the Jack(et) offs on Saturday vs. Ottawa on the puck line. They co-operated nicely blowing a 3-2 lead by giving up the equalizer and the winning goal in the last minute setting them up in a situation where they are still winless. Got to hand it to these guys. They get a rematch with Detroit this time at home and Detroit is going with Conklin in net the backup and he's struggled some including on Saturday night. I got my number of Detroit being at least -180 on the moneyline and they are and I didn't expect the backup. They would have had this over -200 otherwise which is quite high. Columbus gets Wisniewski in for his first game since signing as a FA after serving a suspension. He will help them out. They should be desperate and I do think there is value on this number on them. I played the puck line at +1.5-185 and Pinnacle has better. Detroit comes off a pasting they took from Washington so they might be ornery as well. The negatives to this play are Detroit's success vs. Columbus in the recent past and Mason in goal for Columbus has been shaky for quite awhile (back to last year and even before). But I think it is all baked in the cake and I still wouldn't have the Jack(et) offs as this much of a dog at home. I got what I wanted which was a rematch with Detroit and a close game loss to Ottawa. Now let's finish it with a Columbus win. ML pretty good shot at +165 I would think. But it is all just my honest opinion.

Thanks for this Skeeter!
