Cosmo Evaluation: B-

Cosmo Evaluation: B- 1. Staff. A. The opposite of City Spender. Helpful staff everywhere to answer questions. (City Center never seems to have anyone to answer questions). 2. Sitting area. A. Cozy seat all over the place (The opposite of City Spender who feels people should always be upright). 3. Ambiance. A. Cool Feeling. Upscale, not stuffy. 4. Attractions. B-. I am constantly amazed at how great the Fountains and the Arboretum at Bellagio are, along with the Stained Glass, and how all the other Casinos cannot find anything to compare with this or the Mirage Volcano. But.....the chandelier theme is cool, the master chandelier, magnificent, and the fun information/small stuff is cool (like the pool table/game room). 5. Casino C-. Would have been a B+ but no Sports Book until January knocks it down, and no Poker Room is a fatal flaw. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?? When Cantor comes aboard in January, maybe a B-. I do like the feel of the Casino. Overall: Met and in some ways exceeded my expectations. Restaurants look encouraging. I HATED City Center, but this place has a nice buzz/vertical layout (4 floors). BUT ......they HAVE to get a poker room. I don't recall seeing any TVS to show sporting events, but I may have missed them......if this is the case, that's a problem also. I will say 1st impression coming from Bellagio STrip side was "Cool lights, cool restaurant, cool chandelier feel". Vs. 1st impression at City Spender Mall, (stark, no place to sit, while walking I run into dead ends, morons designed this white elephant mall, the non horizontal lines --- angled walls ----makes my head hurt). A flaw.........NOT a very quick trip from Bellagio to Cosmo........have to walk out to the Strip and then enter......contast that with the ease of going from Bellagio to Caesars or Forum shops to Mirage...... Re: Parking. I am fearful the only way in is LIKE the City Donkey, having to drive on the STrip to get in to their parking lot. THis is going to be A HUGE CLUSTER #)(*%#)(%* ......as we all know we can get into TI/Mirage off Spring Mountain, and into other casinos like M Bay off Frank Sinatra.......how the )*#%(*#%()* can these places not have a back way in to the parking???? And for that matter, how can I-15 North not have an exit ramp right into City Center/Cosmo?
Personally, I felt the chandelier effect was overdone. I didn't stay long once I heard the sportsbook wasn't open yet. Regarding parking, I believe you can drive in from the East (the good side of the city) on Harmon right into Cosmo valet without having to drive actually on the Strip. I very well could be wrong on this as I was hoofing it with my buds from my Cub Scout Troop reunion.
