Dawson vs Diaconu (5/21) Bad Chad Dawson takes on Adrian Diaconu this Saturday. This fight should be televised prior to the Pascal/Hopkins fight.
Dawson, is coming off a bad loss against Pascal. It was reported that he training was bad and it is well known he had a lot of distractions. It seems that he's straightened out his life, made the move to a real trainer (Emanuel Stewart) and is hungry again.
Diaconu, Romanian, will actually be fighting at home as had fought almost all of his fights in Canada. He's a straight forward type of fighter who likes to get close and throw short left hooks and hooping rights. He only has loses to Pascal.
Dawson, with his new trainer and the knowledge that he's slated to get the winner of the Pascal/Hopkins fight should make him well motivated for this fight. He's a converted southpaw, so generally speaking his jab is the best punch he has. He'll have a 4 inch height advantage and a 4 inch reach advantage.
A motivated Chad Dawson, at least in my mind, is still the best in the division. His lose to Pascal was bad, though it looked like he had a good shot of a KO in the 11th before a bad head butt occurred and the fight was stopped in the 11th. He wanted to fight on but the referee interceded.
Dawson is a huge favorite in the fight and rightfully so.
I'll be looking to add him to a parlay.
