Fed Ex Cup Playoffs The Barclays The Fed Ex Cup playoffs begin with The Barclays and again it is held at a different golf course than the previous year and next year they will play it at the famed Bethpage Black GC in New York.
So, previous experience on this track is zero. The Plainfield CC is a par 71, 6,964 yard tight course with severe sloping greens. Driving Accuracy may be one of the keys this week on this demanding Donald Ross course but we'll say putting is No. #1.
Adam Scott -120 vs. Nick Watney
I didn't find much in the way of matchups that I liked this week, as we wind down the golf season with football already in 2nd gear. I would have played Brendon de Jonge over G Mac, but missed the opener of -144.
We are banking on Scott to continue his super play with Stevie on the bag. He is a better driver of the ball than Watney, forget the stats here, he is longer and straighter for sure, plus the long putter is taking over on the PGA Tour and Scott's confidence is at an all time high with the flat stick.
Important to note and follow is the Fed Ex Cup standings and how they work. Anyone that wins the Tour Championship in the Top 5 wins the $10 mil and the Cup. Watney is at a huge advantage being No.#1 on the list and could coast for a couple of weeks. In fact, Watney could miss the cut and still be at top the Fed Ex Cup list this week. Yes, it's tough to knock a guy that has been as consistent as he has shown this season, but he is very erratic with the driver and we like the spot with Scott here.
