Gambling Manifesto So I am currently on the midst of a huge losing streak. I started the year up big. I started to really believe I could do this full time. However, I have currently lost about 50% of my profits. The reason I lost so much is that I have bet way over my what my units should be based on my bankroll. I figured I was taking a shot at going professional and I would make a few large bets on plays I thought were strong. Trouble is I made all my money in MLB and NBA and made these big bets in football which I am not a proven winner. And regardless of sport, large plays like that should not be made for several reasons. So now that I am over the anguish of losing 50% of my profits, I am determined to create a gambling manifesto so that this losing streak is not for nothing, that I will take this experience and become a better wagerer.
Manifesto
1. Set strict betting units and do not stray from bet sizing.
2. Don't bet tennis unless its the grand slams.
3. Don't bet golf matchups unless a player is injured.
4. Don't bet baseball player vs. player total base props.
5. After losing a bunch of plays in a row, take a day off.
6. When following a play, do not bet more than 2 units.
7. Don't play horses.
The rules on specific sports are only my own as I am not successful at capping them. I realize others are.
I know there are a lot of professionals on this board and would like to know if there are any words of advice or rules that you practice in your own wagering career.
