Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Ricardo Cordoba (11/13) Rigondeaux a former standout Cuban amateur fighter is fight Cordoba for the interim WBA super bantamweight belt this weekend on the undercard of the Pacquiao vs Margarito card. Rigondeaux has so far looked nothing but spectacular. He originally was trained by Freddie Roach but quit and eventually became a disciple of another excellent trainer, Ronnie Shields. Rigondeaux is a late comer to the professional ranks and is being hurried along because of he's already getting old for a boxer at 30.
Cordoba is 3 years younger and has easily faced the much tougher opponents having gone the distance 5 years ago at 22 years old to a prime Poonsawat (insert your own 30 letters) losing by split decision.
The is a half unit wager, one of those "value" bets.
I think Rigondeaux has a lot of advantages including a bit of hometown seasoning. I do give Cordoba a better then 5 to 1 shot at winning.
.5 units on Cordoba +535 (5dimes)
I also think that though Rigondeaux has a fantastic left hand, he isn't all that aggressive and that Cordoba can get this fight very deep. This is a mandatory fight so it wasn't cherry picked.
1 unit -125 OVER 9.5 rounds.

Note:
I've followed Rigondeaux since his Cuban national days and he may simply be one of the best in the game. We shall see. Rigondeaux has won 2 or 3 of his 6 pro fights via a vicious body shot. He can crack with that left hand.
