I busted out of the Main Event Today, 3 events 1/3 broke even at WSOP. No cards and no luck the first 3 hours. VERY frustrating. I had a soft passive table and couldn't take advantage. In particular chased 3 nut flush draws where my opponents bets wimpy (and 2 hands were 3 way!) and whiffed. Also, chose to toss away QQ and 1010 due to heavy resistence post turn vs. rocks. Anyway, down to 21.5k, the cutoff (1 off button) at 100/200 blinds opens for $600. He has been the aggressor at the table and I've fired back at him multiple times, with success in the blinds. I reraise in the SB with 2 red Kings for 2,300, I actually spent some time thinking about the reraise size. I thought he might put me on a resteal given our history. With KK, I knew sans an Ace flop, I was going to rumble with almost a 5k pot, and a stack to pot ratio of only 4. The kid called, and 2-7-8, 2 hearts flopped. I led out wimpy (2.5k) which might have bit me in the butt if he had called, but I wanted him to think he was good if he had 1010, or JJ OR wanted him to consider making a move with trash. He reraised to 8k. I worried about monsters under the bed, but concluded it really was a snap call, and if he had AA, it wasn't meant to be. I pushed, he called, and showed A-Q hearts. A 5 of hearts ended my poker year. We move on to sports. It's ON now. It's on.
Love the attitude, Fez. You sound so focused and in the zone, only thinking about the things you can actually control. Inspirational
Hey Fez, how did you get into the main event? Did you win a tourny or actually buy your way in?:)
I bet he sold pieces of himself. I know I would have bought a piece if it were available to me. Heh, he could have worn an LVA Sports T-shirt. Better than playing for a week and not cashing, I suppose.
