Indianapolis 500 Here's some matchups:
Townsend Bell (+115) over Ed Carpenter
Bell is running Ganassi (2nd best team in the field) power for Sam Schmidt Motorsports. Bell is a one-off driver in this race and was a top 10 car last year and very smart.
Tony Kanaan (-155) over Danica Patrick
Kanaan, one of the IndyCar standouts, barely made the field. The Andretti cars are bad, but Kanaan will pass a lot of cars early. Danica doesn't even know how to set up her chassis and Kanaan is the best in the business at setting up a car along with Dario Franchitti.
Dario Franchitti (-125) over Ryan Briscoe
The Penske cars were clearly tops in qualifying, but the Ganassis (Franchitti and Dixon) were 1-2 in final practice.
Mario Moraes (-125) over Ryan Hunter-Reay
RHR has been terrific on the road courses and is #3 in the pts. However, he is another Andretti car that is woefully slow. Moraes was 8th quick in final practice and was fast last year, but crashed on Lap 1 as a rookie.
Alex Tagliani (-170) over Graham Rahal
Rahal is a talented American who should have a full-time ride, but doesn't bring sponsorship money to buy the ride like so many others. Ride-buying is a way of life in Indy Car racing.
Tagliani started his own team in the offseason and they have run well (FAZZT Race Team). Both he and teammate Bruno Junqueira were in the top 10 in final practice. Tag qualified 6th, and held the pole for a long time. Bruno was one of the 10 fastest cars in quals, but had to be a second-day qualifier and starts 25th.
Mario Moraes (-105) over Raphael Matos
Moraes is a sleeper here. Matos is a mid-packer at best tomorrow.
Marco Andretti (-148) over Danica Patrick
Marco seems to race well at Indianapolis. Danica usually does as well, but her heads not in the right place.
