Information on Blue Jackets/Wild tonight and other hockey notes

Information on Blue Jackets/Wild tonight and other hockey notes The Blue Jackets were fogged in last night. There has been a relatively muted response although the line on Minnesota has gone up. They're a big favourite anyway and could be the reason for such a small reaction. I couldn't find myself how long they waited in Columbus before finding out they were stuck there. They ended up flying to Minnesota today arriving around Noon today. Tough one to call at -180 already Columbus coming off a win and using Mason who is technically the backup goalie although I don't score that a negative but some might. Personally, I feel Minnesota is a little overrated overall but no doubt they have a strong situation here tonight. Columbus does have a weak group of forwards but their D isn't bad. The argument has to be somewhat either the news is not known or it has just simply stopped what was going to be a move on the dog. Whatever we think generally the chances have gone down on Columbus and not sure it has been reflected. If you don't like the juice on the ML can always puck line them or with access to certain accounts do the regulation line. Jason Spezza is out in the game vs. Washington tonight. He is their star player and again there has been a little bit of a move on Washington since that was announced but not huge. Ottawa plays Montreal at home tomorrow and that is always a big game between the rivals. Washington is off to a bad start so I'm guessing will be prepared tonight. Sharp bettors think Ottawa is a strong team and with their good start they might be right but they'll do it tonight without their best player. Going to comment on some props that I don't think really have an advantage in the price but I like them for some reason. Phil Kessel has no goals for Toronto this year so far. I'm going to handicap that he scores tonight. I don't know how to get down on that but he's matched up against Tomas Vanek who is hotter than a firecracker to start the year. I think he's done all right agains the Leafs too. Kessel is -105 at Bodog to outscore him. I will make a very small play on Kessel tonight. Ryan Miller is listed at 24.5 saves tonight at Bodog as well. I want to say he'll make more saves than that. I'll bet that small too. What I'm worried about is he'll get yanked tonight before he makes them! Some fun bets tonight. I haven't bet any of the sides listed since I don't really know what I'm betting but here are some pre game thoughts.
The play here is definitely the UNDER 5.5. You should be all over that.
Good luck with that one. The Jackets haven't done much offensively that is for sure. But I'm not on it myself. I did end up on the Jackets though with a good puck line -160 and Minnesota with -175. Got on the Islanders...pretty much expected that vs. Pittsburgh. They are probably about 1 for 20 in Pittsburgh last few years. And did end up on Washington. I think the Ducks might be good tonight. Sharks have won 5 in a row hottest team to start the year but the Ducks are at least solid. I'd like to see a bargain there. Vegas bettors can bet MGM at +1.5-180. That has been there for awhile but who bets hockey?. Good to see there is still a job there for me if I need one.
I respect your handicapping. But I take an analytics approach to NHL. There's many good approaches for both totals and wins and I like to use them. Those same number told me that both MIN and CLS have trouble putting the puck in the next. Theres little chance of this going over and -140 is a great price. Honestly, I couldn't tell you who's on either team and I mostly don't even watch the games. I just do what the math tells me to do.

You're half of a package, but the tougher half to find. At work I found a pinball machine that had been abandoned. I wanted to fix it up, because it was the same machine I used to play in college (Twilight Zone). However, I didn't know a damn thing about electrical engineering. Well, along comes some Indian guy we have on an H-1B visa who of course studied this stuff in college. Figuratively (and literally, to a certain extent) we didn't speak each other's languages, but we were able to get the damn thing running again by working together. Then two years later some asshole marketing director said it was his machine and took it with him, all fixed up, when he left the company. The point I want to make is to keep posting your math-based ideas with a reasoning, and we'll be able to determine whether your premise is flawed. A lot of us here aren't sports fans, per se, so you have the potential to serve as a catalyst.

But I have to admit that I dont feel like an innovator so I wouldnt have much to add. I'm simply (1) a voracious reader and (2) a computer programmer. Plus I also have a background in advantage play (BJ and Three Card Poker, mostly). I have read a lot of sports betting books and I try to take the best from each. Plus hockey is pretty well studied and there'a lot of good whitepapers out there. I've taken all that (and paid for a data service) and created my own proprietary database that incorporates the works I've read. So I'm not an innovator per-se, I just know how to make a computer do anything I want it to do :D
