In all honesty, it appears Lem was just way too nice to these people.
Of course it's none of his fault, he's obviously a very good person, to say the least.
You'd think his relatives wouldn't have to be taught simple, basic human values.
I mean your own dad and grandfather, my god. Are there words to describe these kind of acts?
In fact, it looks like it a very impressive accomplishment of scumminess to go as low on the scale of scum as they did.
It looks like his daughter and grandson never learned any values, or any sense of decency by being spoiled their whole lives.
They had it too easy.
They probably should have had to work hard and make some sacrifices.
