Lundy vs. Lowther (8/28)

Lundy vs. Lowther (8/28) Henry "hank" Lundy from Philadelphia is fighting Omri Lowther on Saturday night in Canada. It seems that Lowther is the hometown guy even though he was born in America. This is just his first fight in Canada. Fights in Canada have been known to favor the hometown guy but this fight is in Montreal and Lowther lives in Toronto. Boxing fans probably remember Lundy from his recent loss to John Molina. Lundy dominated the fight until Molina caught him first in the 8th and then managed to finish him in the 11th round. Lundy is a very skilled boxer and with a better corner he should have easily cruised to a win over Molina. (Even though we or at least I had Molina in the fight which we/I had to get lucky in) There is little to no film on Lowther. What little I was able to view was dated. I'm gambling on this fight based on Lundy's skill and Lowther's limited opponents and lack of rounds. I'm obviously missing something as Lundy is only -130. 1.3 units on Lundy. GL
Fair warning. The Fightwriter is leaning to Lowther in this fight. Normally his analysis is great in fights such as this but didn't delve deeply in this instance. I'm sticking with Lundy and his experience.
Thanks for the write-up truushot...
any thoughts on calderon fight? as usual, much appreciated.
any thoughts on calderon fight? as usual, much appreciated.
This really is a difficult fight to pick a winner on. Calderon is/was so good with 19, yes 19 title defenses, but he hasn't looked great over the last year or two. He's fading but does Segura, a very crude fighter with great power, have what it takes to win? I'm not sure. The play I like +119 Calderon to win a 12 round decision +135 UNDER 11.5 Calderon hasn't had a KO in 4 years, and only 6 out of 35 fights. 3 of his last 4 fights have ended early by cuts. Segura has almost 0 chance of winning a decision in Calderon's home country; besides the fact that Calderon is one of the best small boxers in the last 20 years if not ever. Segura is slow but he has the power to KO anyone. I liked Segura by KO +250ish straddled with Caledron by 12 round decision, I just worry about the cuts. Seems the Under is a better straddle. The above seems the safest way to win money. GL
I jumped on with a smallish bet on Maidana/Corley under 7.5 rounds at -275. Corley is old and faded and Maidana punches like a Mule kicks. GL
