McCall vs. Ibragimov (6/15) In another meaningless fight between two heavyweights well past their prime, The Hardrock Casino in Florida has Oliver McCall vs Timur Ibragimov as the headliners of a show consisting of a bunch of Heavyweight fights. Intriguing Idea and I applaud The Heavyweight Factory for putting such a show on. McCall is a trainer at The Heavyweight Factory and has been trained for this fight by among others Micheal Moorer.
I'll leave McCall's cocaine bust for others to discuss as I think it really plays no role in this fight. McCall has a bigger fight canceled in February because of it and had been looking for a fight. Ibragimov and McCall should know each other well as they have apparently spared against each other more then a few times.
Ibragimov is at -210 for the fight and McCall is +160. Truly this fight is meaningless though the way the heavyweight division is, we could see the winner contending for some piece of crap strap (belt) in the near future.
I'm putting one unit on McCall just because...
Ibragimov took this fight on short notice and probably should win by decision, I just think the old man looked like he was in good shape and might just have enough to over come Ibragimov.
If you are in that area you should go see the fights, tickets probably free at the door and for entertainment purposes watching 6 heavyweight fights sounds like a lot of fun to me. Should get to see a few KTFO's for sure.
