Narvaes vs Seda (4/15)

Narvaes vs Seda (4/15) Narvaes, 35, the slick southpaw from Argentina, takes on Seda, 25, another southpaw from Puerto Rico. This will be Narvaes's 20th belt defense. This is the 2nd time Seda has fought outside of home country and Argentina is one tough place to box at if you aren't from there. Seda is the bigger man, has the longer reach and likely punches hard. Narvaes hasn't shown any effect of his age, and is a slippery dude. I'm on the side of experience and movement in this fight. Seda seems to need to plant his front leg to throw punches. Narvaes hardly ever is standing right in front of his foe. He also has the ability to get low and he'll need to in this fight. I also think that Seda's power and ability is likely over stated. He's feasted on a bunch of tomato cans and old men. This is a HUGE step up in class. I don't think that he has enough seasoning this go around. 1.5 units to win 1 Narvaes GL
I wasn't able to watch the fight, it sounds fantastic. Narvaes won a close decision. Seda was deducted a point for low blows. From what I could gather, Narvaes was just a bit too experienced and home field advantage never hurts.
thoughts on tonight's fights. much appreciated.
thoughts on tonight's fights. much appreciated.
I might as well have a split personality on tonight's fights. I like Ortiz more then I like Berto but I'm not betting the fight. The Ortiz of before the Maidana fight would likely have beaten Berto silly. I think Maidana mentally broke Ortiz. Berto has a suspect chin so one might think that the inside the distance is a good bet, but Ortiz has fought much to conservatively of late and this may go the distance and be a boring fight. SO.... No bet. Lopez will win this fight but the odds suck. Salido will either buck up and last the distance or get blown out in 4 or 5 rounds. I just don't know. He may even get lucky and win the fight. I don't know.

First half the Berto/Ortiz was one hell of a fight. Fantastic!! Second half not so much. Ortiz seems to be back on track and has erased the memories of his quitting in the Maidana fight. Good stuff!! Wish I had gone with my gut on Ortiz.
The step up in weight class seemed to be good for Ortiz. That's where he needs to be.
What the hell was that stoppage?? That was TERRIBLE!!!!
