NHL Notes for Saturday

NHL Notes for Saturday I like Larry's play on the Lightning. This play has an outlier number at Matchbook where the offer is at -111 on the Lightning. Personally, I think the play is fine at Larry's number. Actually when I saw this line last night I liked the Rangers if I could get +115 let's say but I've changed my mind. The Lightning are just playing too well and there is alot of hype in the Rangers since adding Nash. It just has not been backed up and now they have Callahan out (been out for a few games now) it is hard to endorse them. I guess the way they're playing and the way TB is playing with game in TB even throwing the Rangers a little respect I think TB should be -125 just like they have it in Nevada. The kicker is I think Biron might start over Lundqvist. Boy, if that is true hard to see the value on them. For me it is a play on price I do reserve that I might go back on the Rangers puck line if there is a move on the Lightning but if not I'll ride this small favourite play on the 6-1 Lightning. I'm also on the Leafs tonight so far. Big move on Boston. I do think I understand the move in that those bettors believe that the fact that Boston was 6-0 vs. the Leafs LY with a few blowout wins wasn't in the opener which was -125. With Boston off a loss, they probably like the situation too and the Leafs have won 2 in a row. You know a little NBA contrarian handicapping. I really like Toronto here because I do like the 0-6 angle. The Leafs have won a few this week and the Bruins will get their attention. Kessel has always struggled against Boston I know he wants to score. If there is justice in the world Kessel scores a hat trick tonight which would be his first goals of the season. The Leafs won't be flat. I got +145 I do like the puck line but I'd be interested in this play as low as +130. That still might be hard to get that is the just the way it is when you're confined to Nevada. Hard to get a deal on the puck line anywhere Good luck.
Treading lightly on TB right now because they crushed the Jets playing a back-to-back after giving up 5 in the third to a hapless Panther team (who actually may be OK at home—too early to tell). My theory is that Winnipeg when on the road could make teams look better than they really are.
Agreed. I did bet the Lightning last night and I did bet Florida the night before. I almost posted Tampa Bay last night but it opened -150 and went up to -175. When it crossed that I got a -175. I think the Lightning have been at home too is it 6 in a row? Kudos as well to some a few guys on our board also on the over in that game which didn't get as much endorsement from the sharps as it should have IMO. The play yesterday I felt was against Winnipeg and I agree with that point as well. And you noted that before the season except the angle was on teams travelling to Winnipeg but it also applies the other way. They went from Montreal down to Florida for 3 in 4. Faced a desperate Panther team and were really meat against TB. It isn't a big play for me and I did like the Rangers myself to sort of put them in their place but I do think we're not giving the Lightning the respect they deserve recognizing that last night was a gift just my opinion. The Rangers get too much respect. Might be a sweat this one.
A bit of a curve ball Garon in goal for TB their back up. Played back on the Rangers leaving a small bet on the Lightning would love to see them win by a goal. Never disliked Garon myself but when given a 1st job he has eventually succumbed. For one game Biron or Garon can both play well. Money came in on over probably right thing to do.

It is a long day doing this. Not sure why anyone really wants to do sports betting. But sticking around and doing these hours gets me off TB with the Rangers. So few people read these posts on NHL but if you can get access to Sportsinteraction it is a good book to have. I think all sharps have been there a few times anyway if you know what I mean. They had the Rangers +1.5-250 which was a decent bet-----and looked great when I wanted off Tampa Bay. Close game but Rangers got the win. I take it in the gut. The Leafs didn't get the win but they got the puck line win. Sportsinteraction had +145 moneyline which was another great number with sharp books at -135 on the game. I could scalp out of the Leafs get them on the puck line and put a little more onto Boston. That worked out well. Sportsinteraction also had Columbus +1.5-230 which then went to +1.5-225. Very curious when the line went up as high as +1.5-270. They give you a nice bet on a team that is an outright winner. However, I do pick up a loser on Carolina at +1.5-220. Another great number. They left this up for quite awhile but they eventually did move it. But it was another overlay but a loser. Late games they have Calgary +1.5-260 and have been lowering that number all day. I think it was +1.5-270. The sharp books had Calgary favoured so this is another very good number. (probably +1.5-290 or even higher at sharp books). If I can last they'll probably have a deal on the Preds tonight vs. the Sharks. Hard for a pro to bet the Sharks I think abut I'm not as confident in the Preds on the puckline as I was on the Ducks the other night vs. the Sharks. The Sharks do get a lot of respect on the line. I probably will be forced to end up on the Preds before the night is done. Nevada bettors might get a good shot at the Preds but I also see the Sharks at -165 at Harrahs which is a nice number and a clear scalp. Maybe one of you is out there and can grab that.
As always - Thanks for your posts Skeet - - - Makes me realize what little I know about NHL betting / always enjoy your commentary on all topics - - Have a good year & I'll keep grinding along LK
If you have Verizon and a newer smartphone (LTE-capable) you can stream radio broadcasts of NHL games for free. Honestly watching the games on Center Ice gives you a lot of information, but certain teams have good radio broadcasts, which may provide some insight. Phoenix and Florida are not those teams. San Jose and Edmonton are. Still trying different ones out on my way home from work.
