NHL Sunday Evening Ducks/Canucks I really like the odds on the Ducks tonight at +1.5-140 puck line and can be played at +200 on the moneyline at some places but no less than +185 it appears. The reasons I like the play are the following:
(1) Ducks are 4-0-1 in last 5 games. Given their playoff positioning I don't think there will be any letdown. Especially vs. Vancouver I would think it is an ideal test and they have a day's rest.
(2) Their struggles this year have a lot to I believe with the struggles of top players Perry Getzlaf and Ryan. They've played much better of late leading their streak. They're getting help from Koivu and Selanne. Selanne has been consistent at over 40 yrs all year actually.
(3) Vancouver is a powerhouse of course but I've never really liked betting teams coming off road trips who play on the west coast where they had some success.
(4) When the Ducks are playing well, they can compete with Vancouver.
I think if an analyst is willing to even give a slight upgrade to the Ducks for their recent play there is value on betting Anaheim. A more significant upgrade and I think the Ducks have a lot of value here. I would take a shot at them as low as +165 or on a puck line I would pay as much as +1.5-180. Still a pretty big underdog compared to most but I do think a good bet.
