NHL Tuesday night Let's start out again on the Indianapolis Colts of the NHL in the Columbus Blue Jack (offs)----except they have won a few games. In the overnight line they are as high as +116 on the ML and +1.5-250 on the puck line. I have made extra size bets on both but not at Pinnacle. No, I won't really bet it for anything extra at the end of the day but I do think this line is too high on the Jackets.
They're coming off the 2-1 win over Winnipeg on Saturday and they stay home for this game. This isn't the same team that lost all of those early season games. Wisniewski came back and on the first night he played they won. They struggled again in the following games but Jeff Carter is back in the lineup and he is a key piece to whatevery they're doing. And it may not be much but he's a top 50 player in the NHL and they had to miss him while injured.
The Wild have played well but they're closing a road trip I understand playing a strong game vs. the Ducks on Sunday. They are now 2-2 on the trip. Whether they start Backstrom or Harding in net, they're always a threat to pitch a shutout. I noticed Scandella on of their D is out. He is a rookie and he's played well for them gotten some PP time. I think they'll miss him a little here.
More importantly, the 5th game of the trip is of the 3rd game in 4 nights and the first two were in Southern California. Any day off helps but I do see the Jackets with the advantage regarding rest.
I think it is high price on the Wild. I think you'd be buying at the top to lay -126 and I see some Nevada at -135. That just seems as high as the CN Tower to me. I definitely will leave a bet on the Jackets and it is hard to favour the Jackets here but I really think in perspective with Carter healthy even with their record I would make this game a PK. And I don't like the Wild's situation.
If I'm wrong I just eat the juice loss like a day trader. It will bug me that I'll be wrong but I'd like to think I can cover my bet +116 at -110 on the Wild and make some late night money here but we'll see. But I just don't see the odds take into account the Jackets enhanced lineup and perhaps a fatigue factor on the Wild.
I'll also comment on the Capitals/Preds game. The Caps are the favourite on the road there. I'll probably throw in a puck line bet on Nashville at home. They are a tough out. They're coming off a loss at home to Montreal 2-1. I thought the Caps at -135 is high on the road vs. Nashville. I'm looking at them although no bet yet. It might be one I'll wait to see if there is a move on them which I'll agree with.
