Olympics Wagering Ski Jumping Austria to win the Team Ski Jumping Event -345 Ok, I hear you saying what on earth Alf do you know about Ski Jumping? Well, I've been researching many sports for the up-coming Winter Olympics in Vancouver. We are always looking for an edge/advantage in betting any sport. The Austrian's should be easily 10-1 or more to win the Team Ski Jumping event, and here's why. They have 4 of the Top 5 ski jumpers/flyers in the World and are rated so in the World Cup Standings. Whenever this team assembles these top jumpers they win. The last World Cup event, the Austrians did not participate, they were in Vancouver to practice. 10 days prior to the Olympics no competitors are allowed to use the facilities. I know a couple of guys that follow all the skiing events and they say that the Austrians are a slam dunk to win the Team Event, infact, they said that for them to lose this competiton, two jumpers would have to break their legs or fall off the base. The Olympics start Friday. Some sportsbooks have this line up (Pinny), some will post as the event gets closer to the actual date of the event which is Feb 22.
Sportsbook.com currently shows Ski Jumping TEAM EVENT - Odds to Win Gold (All Bets Action) Feb 22, 2010 11:30 AM ET Austria -300 Czech Republic +2000 Finland +200 Germany +800 Japan +2000 Norway +400 Poland +1500 Russia +3000 Slovenia +2000 Switzerland +2000
Easy Winner.... Thanks
I waited all day for this event in prime time without knowing the results. Geezzzzz, it was fun to watch and enjoy this wager. Austria 1107 meters (Gold) Germany 1035 meters (Silver) Norway 1030 meters (Bronze). It's non major sporting events like these that are so vulnerable to the sportsbooks, yet advantageous to bettors. Guys, we need to dig these out!
