There have been superstars in every decade. Was Hagler/Hearns better then some of Ali's wars? That fight you listed is on of the best but arguably not even in the top 5 all time. I could argue that if Pacquiao fought Mayweather it would be a "bigger" fight on paper. Leonard/Hearns and Ali/Frazer3 would better.
Today's boxing is far better then the 70's. I get to watch boxing 50 out of 52 weeks in HD most of the time. Back then we where treated to a bout a month. No comparison in my mind.
Sure wish I had caught that fight myself. :) I still get a "thrill up my leg" watching it on tape.
