Paredes vs. Pitalau (12/10)

Paredes vs. Pitalau (12/10) In what will likely be a great fight that I cannot get, Paredes is sort of a prospect is fighting an old war horse in Pitalau. Pareses is likely to win but ignoring the fact that he's fought against little talent and that Pitalau has 44 KO's would be ignorant. My guys are on both sides of this fight but I think everyone is in agreement that this fight won't last 12 rounds. (Over/Under was set at 7.5 rounds. The UNDER is -270 so it isn't worth a bet. I found a decent straddle that I think will get the cash. 1.8 units on Paredes "inside the distance" (5dimes) .55 units on Pitalau "inside the distance" (5dimes) If Pareses wins we win .45 units. If Pitalau wins we basically break even. If this fight goes the distance, I'll eat my hat. GL
Well, my hat doesn't taste so good. In what should be a fight of the year candidate, these two guys beat the crap out of each other for the entire time. Incredible fight. Loser all around. Really unbelievable that both of these guys could literally take 400 or more power shots. -2.35 units Paredes wins in a Split Decesion. Wasn't a terrible result, it was a really close fight. any thoughts on tonight's fights. much appreciated.
any thoughts on tonight's fights. much appreciated.
So many fights this weekend. So many bad prices. I'll just say what I've bet Degale, Cleverly, Macklin and Bellew Parlayed 2 units to win 1. Khan, Ortiz and Perez 1 unit to win 1.1. Rosas 1.55 units to win. I have other parlays that would take a lot of time to list with the above picks. Degale, Cleverly, Maclin and Bellew shouldn't be all that tough. Khan could get blown out by Maidana. I don't think so. I think that Khan's chin isn't as bad as people think and he's 5 times the boxer of Maidana. Ortiz is just far to skilled for Peterson. Peterson is quality but I really think that Ortiz is something special. Perez already beat Agbeko but this will again be a close fight. Mares against Darchinyan is a real question mark and I'm off the fight. I'd lean Darchinyan as I think that Mares can be wide open to the left and Darchinyan is a Southpaw and has one punch fight ending power.

I've got a huge bet on Ortiz as well. (limit bets for me) I really don't think this fight is as close as some believe. Peterson, like I said, is a quality fighter. I believe Ortiz could be a legit P4P guy eventually. Forget about the Maidana fight, he was 22 and had bought his own hype job at the time. I think he's learned from that experience. Bradley a light hitter had Peterson stumbling around in the earlier rounds. Ortiz has one punch KO power and I believe he's even quicker then Bradley.
Degale, Cleverly, Macklin and Bellew Parlayed 2 units to win 1. Degale easily, Cleverly and Macklin looked terrible but won and Bellew was down once in the first and once in the second yet came through with a TKO stoppage in the 8th. Plus one unit so far.
Maybe I was swayed by Lederman's scoring, I'm usually not. Ortiz knocks Peterson down twice in one round. That is a 10-7 round. As Lederman correctly pointed out, Ortiz only needed to win 3 other rounds to win. So I judge had Peterson winning. So he judged that Peterson won 8 of the other 9 rounds? I guess, Lederman and I are fucked in the head. I had the fight 1 round closer then Lederman but had Ortiz EASILY winning the fight. Hard to argue with 3 judges having the fight that close. Majority Draw so a push on all the bets on Ortiz.
Khan, Ortiz and Perez 1 unit to win 1.1. Rosas 1.55 units to win. Losers -2.55 Rosas was a close fight, but I only saw the last two rounds. Perez, lost. Khan clearly won but Maidana nearly got him in the 11th round.
