Pavlik vs Martinez april 17th

Pavlik vs Martinez april 17th Kelly Pavlik -170 vs Sergio Martinez +140 (Bodog) In a fight between two guys that no one really wants to fight. Pavlik is very heavy handed, probably one of the hardest hitting middleweights out there. Martinez while a bit long in the tooth, is a slick boxer, hits harder then most give him credit for and has great movement. Pavlik was supposed to fight Paul Williams but had a nasty Staph infection in his hand and eventually the fight was called off. Instead he somehow ends up in a fight with Martinez after a tune up with some tomato can back in December. Martinez lost a controversial decision to Paul Williams and fought to a draw before that with Cintron. Boxrec has Williams #1 and Cintron #2 in there rankings. This helps to show that Martinez is no joke. A few fights back Pavlik lost to Benard Hopkins by a very wide margin. Hopkins beat Pavlik because he's a slick boxer that moved very well. Pavlik, a straight ahead type fighter, has a lot of problems with movement. I'm going with the dog in this fight. He's more then a live dog in my opinion, I think he's a better fighter. 1 unit on Martinez to win. +140 May want to wait to bet this fight. Pavlik is the much bigger name and the odds most likely will get better.

It was a actually a really good fight, Martinez won the first 3 or 4 rounds, Pavlik the next 4 or so including a knockdown. Martinez got re-energized and dominated the last 3 or 4 rounds. An interesting tidbit people need to consider in fights is after the weight in how much weight a fighter gains prior to the fight. Pavlik gained 19 pounds in water weight in one day. When you see that much weight gain it usually slows the fighter down and they wear out late in fights. Pavlik was cut early over the left eye and later under the right eye. A few different rounds at the end Pavlik was a bloody mess. Pavlik said that he had vision problems late in the fight from the cut under his right eye. Great fight, good win on the bet. 53.2 units wagered (+15.66) 14-2 in wager recommendations.
I'll have to watch the replay. I was watching the StrikeForce show.
very well done, truushot. thanks for posting

great call, pavlik's cut under right eye in the eigth round brought him to a halt, really bothered him. Don't think there will be a rematch, Pavlik needs to move up weight class
