PGA Riviera

PGA Riviera I didn't have much nothing I played on openers. I've made a few small bets on Ogilvy and Holmes. I liked Couples at -113 maybe up to -120 over Ogilvy but didn't bet it. It has been steamed now. The reason I didn't play it I'm not the type to bet things will go on forever and I think Ogilvy might play well one of these weekends. Couples has a long history here but at -162 this just doesn't seem reaonable. It is one of his favourite courses but Ogilvy is the one on the PGA tour. Holmes has a good track record in LA but Woodland has had a small flow come into him. I bet small Holmes here. He was put originally -124 but now +101. Donald now favoured over Mickelson. I'd look at Phil. He's done well in LA over the years. I doubt I'll bet it myself unless it gets pushed a little more. Money came in on Piercy vs. Baddeley. Piercy is red hot but hasn't done well here in LA. However, he is a way better player now than a few years ago. Still Aaron is formidable and he's tempting to play as a pooch against anyone but the top golfers. He won in LA a few years ago. Kirk has lousy history here so I think that is why the market likes Webb Simpson but Kirk now +142 at Pinnacle coming off a runner up last week at Pebble Beach. I had him a few weeks ago and he didn't make cut so can't say I love this guy at the moment but Webb hasn't been a house of fire. There are several good golfers you can bet at pretty decent + odds. (Choi, Kirk, Goosen, McDowell, Z Johnson). It is a very deep field. Another one is Mahan at +121 against Kuchar. I think it is a good bet but in my mind I'm also betting to win a matchup vs. another guy that I think will be in top 15 of the tournament. Kuchar bettors must think the same way don't they? Would rather be on Mahan just don't know if I need to make the bet.
Id take Michelle Wie against Couples. I love Boom-Boom but he's from another era. If theres lines out there that lay you odds with his opponent, I'd be ALL over that.
LOL. I'll probably need Ogilvy to be better than he's been. He probably won't win this matchup with a 150 over 2 rounds but Fred apparently is just here on a special request. Ogilvy reality check needs a good week.
150 is more than enough to beat Boom-Boom on that course. Seriously, and they LAY you odds? This is a no-brainer

Couples (-120) over Ogilivy - Freddie solid in his lone senior start this year, and Ogilivy just awful of late, missing his last 3 cuts by an average of 6 strokes. Clock ticking on Freddie, as other posters have pointed out, but so far no decline in his game. Couples also loves this course, with 7 top 10's in his last 14 starts here. You'll have to find a place that's asleep at the wheel to get this price on Freddie now...I would take him up to -140. Kuchar (-125) over Mahan - Good week to go against all the guys with bad short games. Mahan an awesome ball-striker, but tiny greens will put his short game more in play this week.....and that is not good news for Mahan. Cantlay (+115) over Noh - I continue to be intrigued, some might say obsessed, by Noh's travel schedule of late....San Diego, Dubai, Pebble, and now LA in consecutive weeks. No weekends off by missing the cut either. It looks like it took it's toll last week, as he faded badly over the weekend. I'm hoping he has still not recharged his batteries, and look for him to be slamming his trunk on Friday afternoon. Keegan Bradley (-115) over Westwood - Like Mahan, Westy has no short game either.
