Rangers/Hurricanes Thursday night As soon as this line opened it just stood out to me as good value on the Hurricanes. I am a member over at Betting Talk and I don't post there but I had to check Stevie Y's picks because I KNEW he would have the Hurricanes in the overnight.
I don't know if it is a winner but I do think it is of good value. The Rangers have been a powerhouse all year. They seemed to slow a bit but apparently they still won 9 of 13 games in February. I think there is a chance Biron gets the start in net for NY and although he's certainly a solid backup if one is betting Carolina he's a lot better than having to face Lundqvist that is for sure. But that is not certain.
I also read Ryan Callahan has a bruised foot and may not play.
Bet Cris has +1.5-225 on this game on the puck line that is already flagging as a good bet.
I'll see what the market does with the game but I expect to be on Carolina on the puck line at least somewhere somehow. However, given the Rangers success vs. Carolina in head to head matchups and their overall rating personally I might bet the Rangers on the moneyline if the game drops in price on them perhaps to -120 ML (and realize that might mean Callahan out and Biron in net).
An additional note is its the first game between Marc and Eric Staal since Eric concussed Marc with a check. Not sure what that means but it is a big game for Carolina playing to keep their small playoff hopes alive. I'd like to think both teams will be up for this game hoping Carolina keeps it close maybe with more on them to cover the puckline but the Rangers to win it.
