Reno-Tahoe Report

Reno-Tahoe Report Spent a couple weeks up north and visited all the notable books in the area (and some not so notable ones). All the details are up on the main page including some very good locations for sports bettors comps along with all the betting specifics. http://lvasports.com
I want to fly to Reno and open a mobile account with Peppermill. Do you have any suggestions on the best way to deposit 10-15K in cash. I don't want to drive and I can't fly with that much cash. Thanks.
You can legally fly with as much cash as you'd like in the US. Declaring at the 10K mark only pertains to international travel if that's what you're concerned with. I routinely carry larger amounts on planes and the only thing I make sure of is that all the cash is on my person. You may have to take the money out of your pocket when going through the newer Xray type screeners at the airport but you can hold it in your hand. I wrap my boarding pass around it and sometimes they want to fan thru it to make sure it's just cash and nothing else. If flying with the cash just makes you nervous you can always go get travelers checks or some other bank instrument if you have a way of withdrawing it once up there. As far as the Peppermill goes they only take cash. Setting up a line of credit and taking a marker there may work but I'm pretty sure they would prefer you gamble in the casino with marker money and not just post it up at the sportsbook.
Peppermill closed my mobile account. It's for losers only.

Please provide details on your experience. If you'd rather not do it publicly please PM me as I'd like to know what the particulars were of your situation. This is something I feared would happen given the Peppermills attitude at times while at the window so any info you can provide would be helpful in reviewing their book and mobile app.
I used the Peppermill mobile account for about six weeks. I only made strait bets for a nickel each, I never double popped them and I never bet any obvious mistakes. All my plays went through the confirmation process and they always approved them. I won 24 units before they locked the account. Peppermill offers loser only accounts. I've had the exact same experience with William Hill and Stations mobile accounts. They both offer loser only accounts. Cantor won't close accounts unless you break some rules, but they do reject wagers and air move the line against sharp players. Southpoint won't close accounts, but they do reject wagers and air move the line against sharp players. Limits on the mobile app are a joke. Coast won't close accounts but sharp players can expect to have the already low limits reduced even lower.
Thanks for the details. What you report is consistent with my own and others experiences on the LV based accounts. The info on the Peppermill is the first I've heard but is not unexpected. When you go to cash-out please report how that goes and how they handle it.
Thank you for this confirmation of what some people like myself would think People come from all over the USA to wager on Sports in Nevada, sitting on a plane for hours and getting a hotel to avoid the pitfalls on wagering online offshore or with a street bookie, Appreciate what you have right in NV 1. It Legal 2. You can use cash, In a secure area 3. Your assured to get paid Online accounts for Sports Wagering in Nevada is only a benefit to the Sports book and a Detriment to the player In My Opinion you just read why. Why anyone would trade online when in person cash option is available is beyond my logic its the whole beauty of NV to begin with. As far as online Sports of course they only want losers, because they are in business to be winners, its not a hobby (Ya Think? Duh) Also In my view online Technology involving anything involving money, banking trading equities or sports, money transfers, is plain dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. If I can save one person by rethinking i did a good thing Im old school its a lot safer Your cash in hand can't be hacked One can google new stories about online hacking from Target,Sears, Blue Cross to All Major Banks every day people are victims, you know stories yourself, and I would bet on that. One of Aesops Fables is "Learn from the mistakes of others"
Can't argue with the exposure aspect and I agree as far as the mobile betting goes too. Sad fact for us who prefer window betting is that app wagering is here to stay and it's only going to get more prevalent as time goes by. Personally would prefer no mobile betting at all as it negates part of what I perceive as the big advantage of NV betting - having to hoof it into the sportsbook in question to get that good number. When an app is added that allows all the snipers to pick off the good numbers from home and makes the lines around town more standardized. As far as security goes, I have a couple stories that supports your assertion that all is not as safe as they would have you believe.
The Atlantis mobile app is pathetic. With limits so low I can't help but wonder why they even bother.
