You don't make money in the NHL laying -165 money lines. That is why he laid the half a goal plus money.

Thanks Shooter. Appreciate the response. I am a hockey novice so forgive the stupid question but dont they go to shootout so how do you have a minus 1/2?? Or does the minus 1/2 bet not include the shootout??

includes it. I usually play money lines (95% plus money and 5% rare - favs that are small) and not 1/2 goal lines

the shootout is not considered part of the game, if I understand correctly, but that might only matter if the game is not a moneyline.

You can still win moneylines in shootouts. 3-way lines only include the 60-minute regulation time. So this bet that was made must win in regulation.

So if you play the other side plus 1/2 and they lose in a shootout you still win?? If so it seems like you are betting a lot if you lay the money line on winning the shootout.

Where does one find 1/2 goal lines? I don't see it at my outs?
