Sat Nite total

Sat Nite total First of all, I would like to applaud the decision to add Alf to this site.I have knowm Alf for about four years and am impressed with his thorough handicapping skills. He is also a helluva nice guy. Hopefully, he will post some more hockey plays.I would be willing to post more NHL totals if there is some exchanging of hockey info and a higher level of visits to this secluded "field" section. I played Chi/Van over 5.5 (-105). The Canucks are depleted on their blue line. They will be without Salo, Mitchell and Bieksa tonight.Things are so desperate that they called up journeyman,Baumgartner, from the minors yesterday. He last played on an NHL blue line in the 2006-07 season.Luongo will be making his 22nd consecutive start in net tonight. The fatigue may be starting to show as he has allowed 3.0 gpg in his last 5 starts. He will be facing the league's 3rd highest scoring team. The Blackhawks have gone 6-2-1 "over" in their last 9 road contests. They also rank #2 in "shots on goal" with 33.1 per game. The Canucks are the 4th highest scoring team in the NHL and boast the second highest scoring line with the Sedin twins and Burrows.THey also rank third in power play goals with .9 per game. Scheduling dynamics also favor the "over." Vancouver plays higher scoring games when featured on HNIC.The over is 5-2-1 when they play on Saturday night. They are also 4-1 "over" when installed as a home dog.The series is 4-1 "over" when played in Vancouver. I predict that the Canucks will not be playing a tight checking game given the fact that their two "stay at home" defensemen won't play tonight. Chicago should be more than willing to play a fast paced game.Given all of the firepower of both teams,I found that laying only -105 on the over carried some value. Good luck, charliej
The Field is already picking up steam. Good posters perpetuate action. I'm on ya.
Thanks for the post Charlie! Nipsy
Nice call Charlie J! Excellent write up. A Totals Expert would be an understatement. Few handicappers put in the time and effort into their plays like Charlie does for totals. I'll post all my hockey plays right here in the Field. I haven't been able to pull the trigger on many NHL games. I'm probably averaging 1-2 a week. Well done my friend.

I read tons of posts from everyone here and try to grasp as much as possible. I bet hockey pretty heavily myself, wouldn't mind posting some info/picks but I am not sure if it would be appropriate to be honest. I am not a seasoned veteran like you guys, and wouldn't want to cost anyone any units by posting picks. keep up the good work guys... mags
well done charlie.....that made me a few coins tonight, kudos
Mags: Please post your thoughts on the NHL. Hockey is very thinly handicapped. The more input and ideas shared, the better we can handicap the sport. If you offer some reasons for your selection, the readers can decide to make the play or to pass the game. Some of the best posts are those that offer a differing opinion on the game. As long as the post does not personally attack the poster, it can offer a learning experience when two different 'cappers break down a matchup and come up with polar opposite decisions. Many of us may miss some important factors when we handicap a game.In my opinion, the reason for the success of the Tuesday meetings is that differing opinions are frequently expressed.Sometimes, the best play is a "pass" on a game. I know of only two guys that understand hockey from a betting perspective (Alf and Londo). If we can add to this list, maybe the "field" won't be a ghost town. In my opinion, betting the NHL can be very profitable. If we can share ideas on this site, it may add to all of our bankrolls. charliej
Thanks for the winner, fell asleep thinking it was a loser, good suprise!

I find first period totals to be good value with the standard 1.5 o/u. mags
Mags: That is great. We look forward to your totals' analysis. Welcome aboard ! charliej
