Saturday total I played Atl/TB over 6 (-110).
Since league officials mandated that NHL refs call interference and holding penalties more consistently, the "over" has cashed at a rate of 27-10-2. Two of the hottest "over" teams are meeting in tonight's contest.
Atlanta has run off 3 consecutive overs and is 5-1 "over" in its last 6 road games. They have scored 24 goals in their last 6 matchups. The Thrashers are the 5th highest scoring road team, but rank 27th in road scoring defense.
Tampa introduced their new owner, Jeff Vinik, this week.He will want to offer a more "exciting" team to bolster sagging attendance. As stated in my last writeup, the Lightning have recently changed their game strategy. They will try to make the playoffs with an emphasis on offense. They have played 5 consecutive "overs"with 43 goals scored in these 5 contests. They have given up 12 goals in their last 2 games after the Olympic break.Their porous defense and goaltending have given up at least 5 goals in each of their past 5 matchups. Tampa has plenty of firepower with Stamkos ranked among the top five in the NHL in goals scored.Martin St. Louis is ranked among the league leaders in points.Perennial all-star and team captain.Vinny Lecavlier, has had a subpar season, but scored two goals in their last game versus the Caps.Perhaps, the Olympic break allowed Lecavlier to break out of his scoring slump.Tampa leads the NHL in power play chances. If the refs call the game tightly tonight, it can only help the "over" with two hot offenses and two weak defenses facing off.
Good luck,
