SCOOP $1,000 Main Event, What a Disaster, still in shock from last night

SCOOP $1,000 Main Event, What a Disaster, still in shock from last night Took 1 break to play the Spring Champ Of Online Poker $1,000 main event. Started with $10,000. Triple Barrelled bluff early when 2 successive overcards hit the board K,A, turn river, and got called. Ok, I'm going home with $3,000 in chips left. From there, smooth and steady saling up to $100,000 in chips, just under the average chips stack, 3,500 players 300 remain. 2000/4000 blinds, with antes. I get AK of spades in the BBlind. SB has me covered and shoves preflop. I insta call. He shows 22. Board bricks, and I'm out with $2,300 to show for the effort. It all happened so fast. 20 seconds and it was all over......
Similar to how I was knocked out of the Nevada State Poker Championship main event (don't get too excited; it was only a $550 buy-in) at the Peppermill in Reno (see? don't get too excited I said) a week ago, except I had 33 and he had A9s, and I had fewer chips relative to the average stack than you did. The river caught a 9, and I was out, 45th out of 138. Not quite ready for the WSOP, I think. Maybe next year. I won't be in LV till September anyway.

You played a long MTT and went out with 25 BB's on a coin flip... this isn't an unusual occurrence.
The sudden death was so damn sudden I had played 5 key hands up to then, with each taking at least a minute to play. To have some guy push with ducks, instacall and go home so fast was, well, tough to handle.

Again, not trying to be an ass, but this is the nature of MTT's. Long hours, huge variance, plenty of frustration, and many endings just like the one you described.
