Shamenov vs Uzelkov (7/23) This is a belt fight being aired on Espn2 on 7/23.
Both of this fighters are still a bit of an unknown. Shamenov has fought and beaten a few former champions, and even though he has one of the Light Heavyweight belts he has only had 10 professional fights. Uzelkov is undefeated with 22 wins. Uzelkov's hasn't fought outside of the Ukraine in 5 years. Most of his opponents are limited to say the least.
Shamenov recently hired Kevin Barry to be his trainer. This will be his second fight under Barry. Shamenov has shown a serious lack of boxing skills, he's been wild, and generally has looked terrible. Yet he wins. Uzelkov is a more polished boxer with a better pedigree and has displayed better defense and an actual game plan in the ring.
Basically this is a toss up fight, probably won't end that way but going in there are many questions about both fighters. This fight is outside and it is in California. Temperatures in the 90's? See where this is headed?
On 5dimes I bet -150 on the fight not going the distance.
1.5 units to win 1 on the fight not going the distance.
Reports from good writers on this fight are all over the place.
This is a decent bet but by far not a lock.
