Straight betting in Canada The last I was really informed on this issue was last summer and I even knew the bill number (Bill C-290). It was a bill passed in Parliament and just required the Senate to pass it. I was hoping it would get through in time for this past season but nothing happened. What I can't believe and where maybe someone knows more is that I've now read an article that says this bill might actually not pass in the Senate. What little information I remember about Canadian government is that anything passed in the Parliament has to pass in the Senate because Senators aren't even elected in Canada. I guess it doesn't have to pass but these people don't really have a role as perhaps other countries senates do.
Generally, I think any province could have straight betting if the bill passes which would effectively open up a few sites in Canada as single game sports betting locations which would be of a big help. My reasoning for that is clearly the more vanilla lines that are posted in Nevada these days vs. offshore numbers and UK locations.
