Sunday Warm Up, $215 buyin, 99th out of 4500, and one horrible bad beat for me KK cracked by qj......... Oh well, I'm sure I will be in the top 100 sometime again this year.....ARGGGGGH Summary: 4 bet with KK in the BB. SB calls with qj. Flopped a king. Win the hand I'm up 20th place, with a well above average chip stack. Hard to believe people can stand this live, when you play 2 days and then have stuff like this happen. Cash games are where the money is. So much more control and you can always reload if you feel you still have an advantage.
Yeah pretty sick. Looks like the guy was trying to make a standard re-steal from the SB and just got unlucky that you had KK in the BB. Obviously he was priced in to call your shove but still sucks nonetheless. I have been the guy you were talking about though that "when you play 2 days and then have stuff like this happen"..... https://sports.espn.go.com/espn/poker/news/story?id=2893653 I am 13th on that list and the number 5th place finisher on that list Craig Crivillo decided at about 3am in the morning of day 2 that he would call my PF 3 bet ALL IN from the BB with KJos. To be clear he had PF raised from the cutoff and I moved in from the BB. Whoever won the hand would move into 3rd place in chips with 12 left. We both were deep enough that he could have (and should have) laid it down and I think at that point it was the 2nd time I had volunteered to put money in the pot in over 45-50 minutes of play I had ATclubs....flop was T-rag-rag...turned a Jack and I was out. Guy literally thought about the decision for over 5 minutes on the tournament clock and noone called the clock on him (in hindsight maybe I should have).... The funny thing is the guy is a solid player...you just never know why people do what they do at the moment and what is going through their heads. I saw him the next year and asked him what was he thinking to make such a bad call and he honestly didn't even remember the event at all. Such a brutal brutal game....in the end the casinos and websites end up with 90+% of the money anyway. Unless you get 100% rakeback like me. :)
