Tiger Drops Caddie Stevie Williams https://espn.go.com/golf/story/_/id/6787301/tiger-woods-gets-rid-steve-williams-caddie
I thought these guys were best friends - seems strange
Never thought this would happen....because now Stevie can write the book that everyone wants to read/hear and there is already $5 mil up front on the table for it, I think he should hold out for $10 mil!
Alf - you don't think Tiger would have made him sign off on the ability to sell a book about him? When Williams came on board with Tiger he was obviously the #1 job in the world for a caddie and could make demands like that on any potential employee
Stevie was making $1 mil a year via contract. All the top caddies have contracts and not the 5% plus expenses deal. Perhaps Tiger let him loose to save money? You can tell by Stevie's statement he did not want to leave and he's not going to make that kind of money with anyone else. So, why not write the book? How can Tiger stop it?
I would have to think Tiger (or more likely his people) would have had a no disclosure clause in the caddie contract if he was getting a 7 figure a year deal. If not he is crazy not to write a book.
If Tiger let him loose to save money that pretty much says he is done for the year.
