Tournament Matchups Honda Classic The Honda Classic is held at the PGA National Golf Club Champion Course, Palm Beach Gardens, FL., and is a Bear of a track. As Padraig Harrington says, "If you don't like the course, your game isn't good enough." The par 70 layout measures 7,158 yards, favors superior ball strikers like Robert Allenby, Ernie Els and John Rollins. Long irons and wind control needed this week, so again solid ball striking at must or you will miss the cut.
Matt Every -125 vs David Duval
Every finished T8 last week and is a rookie to watch this season. He is a Florida native and a NCAA Florida Gator. We lost a bet a couple of weeks ago on Duval and he showed us he is too inconsistent for our wallets. Last year in this tournament he shot 82-75 and finished dead last in a field of 156 players.
Ernie Els -110 vs. Camillo Villegas
Villegas played 6 rounds in the matchplay event, then showed signs of fatigue during the weekend of Phoenix Open firing 71 and 71 after posting a 62 and a 69. Earlier this week he made a trip home, down to Columbia hosting a Charity event , so look for a very tired player especially if he makes the cut. Els loves this golf course, won here in 2008 and LY T20.
