Wells Fargo Championship We have some interesting information that the fairways at Quail Hollow have been cut/mown green to tee, which makes for tee shots not to roll, which favors the longest hitters that carry the ball down the fairway. Someone like David Toms who is accurate but very short off the tee could be at a disadvantage this week unless he makes allot of putts.
I like Rory McIlroy the defending champion this week but not against fellow bombers Dustin Johnson or Phil Mickelson. This is the only matchup I have played so far. Perhaps we'll find a juicy round by round matchup later in the week.
Brandt Jobe -130 vs Stuart Appleby
Appleby has missed the cut in his last four starts. He is tinkering with his swing and putting and the scores reflect his poor current form. Jobe is playing his best golf of the season right now with three straight Top 20 finishes at the Shell Houston Open, Valero Texas Open and last week at the Zurich Classic. He is plenty long off the tee ranking 17th on Tour in Driving Distance at 295.4 yds. Appleby ranks 102nd.
