WGC Accenture Matchplay Round Two

I'm not going to check the current line moving every 30 seconds. Obviously you all know that the golf lines move very fast and sometimes between the time I write it and post it, it has moved again and again and comes back again etc. Give me a break! I've tried to set some guide lines, but everybody wants it to be perfect, everybody wants the best number, not going to happen. I missed Ogilivy at -167, laid -179 and -185 with another outlet. I think if I'm going to continue to post more golf, it will be just the matchup with no lines, and you get the best number you can.

Maybe I'll just start posting that I like college basketball 2H OVERS but not setting a line that I like it at. Alf...you are wrong about this one.
Like the lines being posted as a guidepost - obviously they are going to move, but it works both ways sometimes in our favor as I got Cink at -140 last night, not the -150 Alf posted.
I think if I'm going to continue to post more golf, it will be just the matchup with no lines, and you get the best number you can.
Have to agree with Burger that this is a very bad idea. It would be a definite step backward. It reminds me of when Russ Culver first posted his baseball "plays" at Eye on Gambling (EOG) with no lines at all! Instead of simplifying things, it triggered tons of questions from novices to the knowledgeable. Of course, Culver was very clear that he didn't give a shit if anyone who followed made any money. His only concern was his own bets and pocketbook as well as (unsaid) for every month he posted he was paid, win or lose. Posting with no lines lasted less than a week as I remember. The essence of any market is price (determined in a free market by supply and demand). How many stock analysts just say buy Apple at any price? No, there is always a strike price to buy and almost always a target at which to consider selling. Just because every LVA reader may well get a different price is no reason to quit posting the nominal price that is currently available. I can see why quoting stale lines that are hours old can really irk readers. Giving a reasonable upper limit like Alf did on the -185 play is the right way to go. You see Fezzik and Dr. Bob do this all the time.

I got Ogilvy at -196 at Matchbook this morning. I bet Cink at -144 this morning so I totally disagree of what is the point of Alf posting something he played. I got this Schwarzel at -137 or something which was a terrific number and I scalped half and he loses. Let me tell you Alf's comments saved me half my bet should have rode him to the abyss at that number saw him over -150 I think at most books. Alf is not releasing plays is he? There is no countdown menu. Nothing I'm reading into this says the number has to be there when I look for it. For all I care he can tell me he played Ogilvy +120. He said he would lay up to -195 which is pretty helpful. But I clearly would like Alf to continue posting what he plays and what numbers he thinks are valid. Burger is clearly correct here. It won't cut it as too valuable for him to just tell me he likes Ogilvy over Bjorn.
What has worked best for most that post is this.... Simply log onto pinny right before posting and look at line, type the price and hit submit. Very simple, quick, easy and efficient. It is very easy to verify via Don Best or Sports Options as Jackie Peanuts has noted.
For people who bet golf matchups usually the line will move quickly but only for 1st 10 minutes or so as it opens and then settles. Then a few hrs later other books besides pinny ( and their circled limits) will put up there "ironed out" lines. Perfect example, which is already in this thread as we can see, Ogilvy line bounced 4 times starting at 503pm....then settled down. Standard.
Yes, glance at your Donbest or Sportsoptions screen and post the number from pinny if you still like the play at that number. Adds probably 30 seconds to the process of posting 3 plays.
