World Cup 2010 Props Part III

World Cup 2010 Props Part III Will Chile advance from Group H? Yes -140 You could bet on Spain to advance in this group and lay -2300, and yes Spain should be a heavy chalk in this Group, but Chile is clearly the second best team in Group H and should be -200 or more to advance. Chile will not have to play Spain until the final Group H game and at that point Spain should have 6 points and a guaranteed spot in the Round of 16 and would possibly rest many of their top players. Another reason this line is so low, their star striker Humberto Suazo has an injured thigh muscle and has been long presumed out until now........ (AP) – 10 hours ago NELSPRUIT, South Africa — Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa says striker Humberto Suazo should recover from a left thigh injury in time for the team's opening World Cup match against Honduras next Wednesday. Suazo, the top scorer in South American qualifying with 10 goals, was originally expected to be out for another two weeks. But Bielsa said Wednesday that Suazo's recovery is on schedule and "if everything continues like it is now, he should be available" for the Group H match in Nelspruit. Chile finished strong right behind Brazil in Qualifying. The Swiss are a weak low scoring team. They played twice against Israel and drew both times and they lost at home to Costa Rica. Honduras has little or no experiance in this class of field.

Alf, It's pretty sick that Brasil looks likely to meet Chile in the 2nd round. I'm sure that's just a coincidence :). Why wouldn't you want the top 2 teams from South America qualifying matching up that early? A big disadvantage to Brasil. I think Spain along with Brasil are clearly the favorites. And if England isn't the most o'rated team ever. I am scared of Portugal too. There history is not good in the "big" events and I'm not sold on there current team as they lost there group to a nice but average Denmark crew then drew by far the easiest opponent of the final 8 in europe with Bosnia. Home continent will be massive per usual and one of these African teams, if not more, will travel to the 1/4's if not further. Holland, I'll believe it when I see it. Even with Ballack out don't over look Germany. It's hard to repeat and everyone is down on the azure for either age or lack of scoring punch (sound familiar,2006), but they defend and last time I checked, it wins titles. Not to mention arguably the best goalie in the world. Always a great tourney. In the end I will take Brasil and the main reason is Dunga. He led them to the 94 cup and will instill a much needed defensive edge to a very explosive arsenal of strikers and playmakers. Please let me be in Rio in the summer of 2018. Sounds kinda fun. Thanks much for the insight Alf and good luck!
