$1 BLACKJACK

Just got home from a winning trip to Vegas. That means I have $30 more in my gambling wallet than I did when I left. (That amount also includes tips I gave).

Spent time gambling in North Vegas. Both the Poker Palace and the Silver Nugget had $1 BJ. Six deck shoes and paid 3:2 odds. Yes, the places were a little run down but had a gret time with the dealers and the locals. Oh yes -- had a very succesful run playing the side bet of royal match (first two cards were a matching suit).

Longhorn on Boulder Highway had $2 BJ. That place was way too smokey.

Thanks for that! That's interesting to know!

With this 6 Deck game, was the Dealer Hitting on Soft 17 or Standing on All 17s? I ask this because that makes a lot of difference. If the Dealer has to Stand on All 17s, that lowers the casino's advantage over the players (depending on what other rules are offered -- such as Doubling Down After Splitting Pairs, Resplitting Pairs and Aces and whether or not they offer Surrender.

As for the Royal Match Side bet, at least according to the Wizard Of Odds website, if it's normal and doesn't offer a bonus pay for a Suited Blackjack, the additional casino advantage over the player is 1.113%, otherwise it's more than an additional 3%! I personally avoid that bet like The Plague since I do not prefer to give the casino any more of my money than necessary!

I think that a good lower end game is the $3 Minimum Two Deck game that is offered at El Cortez Casino in Downtown LV.

Don't remember for sure if the $1 BJ hit on soft 17 but pretty sure that it did. I know that it is not recommended to play the side bets. The side bet didn't pay on a matched BJ but did pay on matched K and Q. We started and went on winnng enough to keep on playing.

We went into El Cortez for a little while. Not quite as smokey as it used to be but bad enough that we left after a few hands.

Arizona Charlies on Boulder Highway also has $3 BJ. Wednesday night the place was fairly empty I played by myself for almost an hour. Then a guy came and sat down at the same table. He bought in for $100. The $1 side bet was paid $1000 for two Queens of Hearts and a smaller amount if you hit 20. He got carried away and lost his $100 in three hands = bought another 100 and that didn't last too much longer. Then he had the pit boss give him a marker. I stopped playing and watched him lose that also. The sad thing is that his play wasn't so bad -- he just didn't get the right cards.
Circus Circus has a $3 table 3/2. They hit on soft 17. Otherwise all the splits and double downs are in play.
