1 hand at 50 cents or 5 hands at 10 cents

Learned my lesson earlyon when I hit a RF with 2 coins in...way before I started learning how to play VP the right way.
I've passed on that experience numerous times to folks playing less than full coin, both friends and strangers. If they don't take the advice, its their problem.

1 coin veresus 5 does work if negative expectation game like 9/6 JoB if playing the same demonination. For example you will lose less playing 1 quarter vice 5 quarters. 2-4 and you lose more then playing 5 over time.

Yes, but if you hit a Royal with only one coin in............somebody is going to get smacked!

if one pay table is better than the other, and since the damn RF only comes up once ever 40,000 hand, it might not really be that bad of a play. Not saying it is the best, but...

Actually I would attribute it to the fact that I had to return to the cheap seats to recover all the $100's I lost at the quarter machines at the "M" and Red Rock during the previous 2 days. I only ventured into the dimes after I got into positive territory playing nickles. I'm now happily back to where I belong......nickles.

nickles rock. when full pay. I have bounced to nickles after taking out one large at full pay, more than once.
Some day i may be lucky twice in a day. I am a little old for twice in a day, now that I think about it. Regarding the issue at hand... 99.99 percent of my play is max coin. I would be stupid(er) to play as much on progressive machines and not make a max coin bet. But some people wanna play longer, dont expect the 'big one' or read dancer's older book/columns. As if this matters, my first RF came with one nickel in @ tunica (I had to prove to myself they could be hit), but I still got paid 800 to one. I imagine I went all crazy with that payout. Not.
